WEEKEND CAMPS AT RIVER RIDGE
These are unique weekends throughout the year designed to continue the summer camp experience. Boys and girls will encounter Christ with others their age. They take a step forward affirming their identity in Christ by going on one of these weekend camps. You will be surprised what a weekend with safe environments, wholesome fun and adventure, personal attention, teamwork, formation workshops, sacraments, and prayer, does for your son or daughter!
These weekends are also a great way to ease into a bigger summer camp commitment which lasts a whole week.
Most of these weekends are gender specific (either boys or girls) and run from Friday to Sunday, though some will run one night. They usually cost from as low as $25 to as much as the ski retreats at $130.

Fall Adventure Retreat (boys):
The Fall adventure retreat for middle school boys is a really fun weekend designed to draw in the kids' imagination and challenge their teamwork and problem solving skills.
The boys have been doing an adventure retreat for several years now. They follow a formation cycle that teaches the basic pillars of the Catholic faith:
The Ten Commandments – the law of the disciple
The Creed – the faith of the disciple
The Sacraments – the life of the disciple
The Beatitudes – the portrait of the disciple
The Our Father – the prayer of the disciple
Different challenges have included a full camp scavenger hunt to achieve various goals: save a mom from being kidnapped, discover and diffuse a (pretend) bomb, and unlock the ingredients to a mixture that turns zombies back to humans, and more!
The cost for this retreat is usually around $75. Sibling discounts and partial scholarships available upon request.
8th/9th graders can attend as team leaders. High School boys can attend as team leaders and counselors. Contact the camp director for more information!

Winter/Ski Retreats (boys/girls):
The Ski Retreats, available for both boys and girls, is a really fun retreat designed to give either boys or girls a retreat with also skiing for a day or half-day at Perfect North. The groups for these ski retreats are smaller at under 20 campers. We stay at the St Joseph's lodge on camp, since the upper camp is closed for the winter/cold months.
Discounts for equipment and season ski passes at Perfect North are available as you do the online enrollment process.
See some pictures and videos below. The cost runs at around $100-$130, more expensive because we ski at Perfect North Slopes in IN.

High School Spiritual Exercises (boys/girls):
St Ignatius of Loyola developed the "spiritual exercises" to be spiritually powerful encounter with God, and a stimulus for discerning God's will in one's life. The retreat takes the young person through the path of salvation history: God as the origin, principle, and foundation of all things; God's will with creation; sin and the fall of man; the incarnation, life, suffering, death and resurrection of Christ; and the sending of the apostles.
This is actually a SILENT RETREAT for 80% of the time. There are moments of conversation and reflection at the start, midway, and end of the retreat, so it's not completely silent. The campers are invited to to discern God's will for their lives as they reflect on the mysteries presented. The retreat follows a combination of preaching, silent and personal reflection, and then meals and/or sacraments like Mass, confession, and adoration
This retreat is for High School boys or girls. The cost runs between $75-$100/camper.

Lenten Retreats (boys)
The Lenten retreat is a chance for middle school boys to dive into the meaning of Lent, the beauty of worship in the Mass, and to learn to carry the cross as Jesus did. This is a great way to make the Lenten period more fruitful for the boys in preparation for Holy Week and Easter.
These retreats are during the Lenten season, so usually March. The cost is around $75/boy.

High School Getaways (boys/girls):
A "getaway" is a chance for High School boys or girls to relax and form wholesome friendships with other peers. It's especially great for youth that have formed friendships at prior camps to come again and hang out. These are unstructured precisely to let relationships and spontaneous activities develop.
The getaways happen at our St Joseph lodge, which has no phone reception or wifi. So it's truly getting away! It's a relaxed environment to spend time with good peers in the presence of a priest or consecrated women, as well as missionaries.
There are several of these throughout the year, and they are gender specific (either boys or girls). These usually cost about $20 and run from Friday evening to Saturday noon. They usually include night and morning prayers, and a Mass in the morning before a late breakfast/early lunch (since the kids usually go to bed late!).
