BOYS' SUMMER CAMPS
We run an awesome series of themed summer camps for middle school boys! Your boys will travel back to the wild west and live out the adventures of Daniel Boone and company. Or they might go back in time to the time of Rome and the early Christians. Or they might accompany heroes like the boy St Jose Sanchez del Rio. We seek to engage the imagination of our middle school boys!
Our campers learn from a variety of leaders. One or two priest chaplains are present to provide the sacraments and lead the camps. A handful of young men and dads as chaperones attend each summer camp as activity leaders. We also have a dozen or so high school boys as counselors in training that help lead activities. Furthermore, every camper has an older peer as team leader and is part of a team of friends or other boys that live near him. We pride ourselves too on the handful of volunteer moms that come cook for us for the week!
We love it when your kids go home renewed and excited after spending a week enjoying summertime activities and living out their Catholic identity with new friends their age and exemplary leaders.

Summer Camps Available:
Frontier Camp Series - 3rd Week of June (for incoming 5-8th grade boys):
This three-year camp series follows the adventures of Daniel Boone, Simon Kenton, and Tecumseh. This is the longest running theme at River Ridge. The boys can bring costumes and buy cap guns. They will live out the various important moments of these American heroes, including battle reenactments! This is a great camp to help boys learn bravery and a spirit of adventure. They also get to play with cap guns, which is always fun.
Hero Camp Series - 5th Week of June/1st Week of July (for incoming 5-8th grade boys):
This camp series is based on the adventures of Catholic saints and heroes. It started with the life of the 14 year old Mexican martyr boy, St Jose Sanchez del Rio, and the life of the martyr priest St. Toribio. The following year, the boys go to Ireland and experience the life of St Patrick! Then, the third year in the cycle we fast forward to the 20th century and experience the life of St John Paul II.
Early Christian Camp Series - 2nd Full Week of July (for incoming 5-8th grade boys):
Quo Vadis? "Where are you going", said Peter to Jesus carrying his cross to Rome to die in Peter's place. This camp series follows the lives and the martyrdom of the early Christians during the first few centuries the Church was persecuted, beginning with the stoning of St Stephen, the beheading of St Paul, the crucifixion of St Peter, and more! Boys can come with Roman costumes and will also be reenacting some of the famous Roman battles.
Camp Soul on Fire - Last Weekend of July (for incoming 9-12th grade boys; Fri-Sun):
This weekend summer camp is meant to fire up High School boys through the example and testimony of the annual missionary young men that commit to a year of service after their High School graduation. As part of their training for their year, they run this summer camp. The campers listen to various testimonies, participate in a Gospel reflection, daily Mass with opportunities for confession and spiritual mentoring, as well as talks and a Q &A (question and answer) session with several priests. And they have tons of fun too playing archery tag, sports, physical and team challenges, and joining the various lake activities (slip 'n slide, water mattress, diving competitions, etc).
